Inversions and arm balance

Understanding Inversions and Arm Balances:
Yoga's Secret for Longevity and Detoxing, inversions reverse the pull of gravity on your heart and internal organs; both are incredibly refreshing and invigorating.
By using strengthening exercises, props, and breathing techniques you will learn to work through the fear that is associated with going upside down and make going upside down fun and accessible to you!
Increases gastric fire and improves the digestion and keeps the person younger preventing one from getting wrinkles or grey hair and postpones death. Inversions done accurately are always relaxing and reduce stress and strain. The blood circulation to the brain is improved in Sirsasana; the sluggish cells are rejuvenated and the brain, being the seat of intelligence, is stimulated.
It also stimulates the pituitary and pineal glands on which the growth, health and vital strength of a person depends. Sarvangasana works effectively on the thyroid and parathyroid by increasing the blood supply. Halasana is effective on adrenals.
Explore foundations for inversions, and then move into handstand, elbow balance headstand and shoulder stand. Find out where space and freedom for the physical and emotional bodies exists. For students with one year of yoga experience.
Workshops are open to  yoga students looking to improve their practice, or yoga teachers (involved in training program or not) that are seeking to improve their skills. No matter how long you have been practicing you will find the workshops fun and informative.

Back bends and Forward bends

Backbends are the gateway to the heart!
These uplifting poses can restore your innate vitality and enthusiasm for life and bring you back in touch with your true self. The aim is to free the lower back and hips so you will be able to move with more fluidity in your practice and have relief from back pains.
You will be guided into deeper and more effective backbends, honoring each individual and adapting the poses for all body types and levels. You'll leave feeling energized and refreshed.
For many people backbends and inversions are an encounter with fear. This is because the point of bending back and/or balancing is the weightless point you reach just before falling over backward and this is a tenuous place to be. Learn the fundamentals of backbends and inversions in order to keep the practice safe and experience for yourself the benefits.

Backbends increase flexibility and make it easier to breathe.

Hip opening work shop

 Hip Opening Workshop
This worksheop will present specific poses that will deeply open the frontand side of the hips, as well as the lower back.

The workshop will offer methods for releasing tight/congested hips. Feel better in your Asana practice, sleeping and driving. Enhance athletic performance. Get relief from low back pain and sciatica symptoms. Experience the possibilities of full range of motion.
In the workshop we will spend two hours opening the hips and groins, working our way toward Padmasana (lotus) among some of the other most popular of the yoga Asanas. When the hips and groins are more open, sitting for meditation becomes easier. The spine can float up freely above the pelvis.

Upon leaving the workshop you will feel more open and grounded at the same time.
